Step into a rewarding role impacting high school students by providing in-person speech-language pathology services in the Chicago area. This full-time, contract opportunity allows you to work with approximately 44 students in grades 9th through 12th, helping them achieve their communication and academic goals. With a Monday through Friday schedule, you’ll split your expertise between two buildings, bringing continuity and care to every student you serve.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active Illinois SLP license in good standing and ready for use
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Prior experience working with adolescent or high school populations is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and school staff
- Proficiency in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech/language disorders
- Excellent time management and adaptability in multi-building assignments
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized therapy plans for high school students aged 14-18
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy services, both one-on-one and in small groups
- Consult and collaborate with educators, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support IEP goals
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress reports, and therapy outcomes
- Travel between two buildings on a set schedule, ensuring consistent support to all assigned students
- Provide guidance to teachers regarding classroom strategies to enhance student success
