As a contract professional near Chicago, you’ll provide tailored speech and language services across one to two schools, collaborating with dedicated onsite supervisors and multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will help students thrive both academically and socially, strengthening communication skills essential for their success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS 1 endorsement required
- Bilingual proficiency; experience working with bilingual caseloads preferred
- Prior experience in a school-based setting (K-8) highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage and organize a varied caseload across multiple sites
- Commitment to culturally competent, student-centered practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to K-8 students, with a focus on bilingual learners
- Develop and implement IEP goals in alignment with student needs
- Conduct evaluations and maintain timely records of progress
- Collaborate regularly with educators, families, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and student team discussions
- Support students across one to two school sites (no high school population)
- Receive supervision, including support for candidates requiring CFY
