Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Prior experience in educational or school-based settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in managing screenings, assessments, and diagnosis for diverse student populations
- Solid understanding of IEP process and experience ensuring compliance
- Familiarity and hands-on experience working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
- Capable of supporting students with mild, moderate, and severe speech/language needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Organized, flexible, and comfortable working across multiple sites
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and in-depth evaluations to identify student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language therapy plans aligned with each student’s IEP
- Address a variety of communication challenges, including articulation, fluency, language, and functional communication
- Customize approaches for students who use AAC devices, ensuring optimal integration and support
- Collaborate with classroom staff, special educators, and families to support student progress
- Document assessments, therapy sessions, and progress notes in accordance with district and legal standards
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and advocating for individualized student solutions
- Travel across different schools within the district as part of an itinerant support team
