Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist, working directly within an early learning environment. This contract opportunity is based onsite at an elementary school, serving a vibrant community near Bremerton, WA. With a tentative start date of August 24th, you’ll collaborate closely with fellow educators to foster communication growth in children during a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday. Student days run from 9:10 am – 4:00 pm, while staff hours are 8:45 am – 4:15 pm, giving you structure and predictability as you make an impact.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC)
- Valid state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ speech, language, and communication skills; participate in eligibility meetings and draft comprehensive evaluation reports
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff before and after the student day as required
- Provide direct and consultative services, including those for developmental preschool, itinerant support, Child Find evaluations, and possible transition-to-kindergarten activities
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with district and legal guidelines
- Actively participate in ongoing professional development and remain current on best practices
