Desired Background & Skills:
- Current ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion, or eligibility.
- Previous pediatric experience, preferably within educational or healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of evidence-based speech, language, and communication interventions.
- Experience delivering services in-person or via teletherapy platforms.
- Proficiency collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and case management capabilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving student needs and IEP goals.
- Illinois licensure, or eligibility to obtain, for SLP or SLPA, as applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders among students.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEPs.
- Deliver therapy through a blended approach—on-site or virtual—tailored to student requirements.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student outcomes.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Provide support, training, or consultation to educational staff as needed.
- If SLPA, work under the supervision of a licensed SLP to maximize student success.
