Make a meaningful impact working as a contract Speech Language Pathologist during the 2026-2027 school year in a close-knit West Virginia community. This position provides essential speech and language services in a school setting, supporting students’ communication growth and academic participation. Assignment sites will be grouped closely together, with your primary location determined upon placement and may include working with multiple schools, depending on caseload needs.
Position Details:
- Contract begins August 17, 2026 and is set to conclude June 10, 2027 (dates subject to minor changes due to school calendar/weather).
- Each contract covers a caseload of approximately 50 students, with the potential to increase to 53 if approved.
- Multiple openings are available, offering opportunities for collaboration and peer support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Active SLP licensure in West Virginia, with Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience in school-based settings highly desirable
- Strong organization skills to manage a dynamic caseload and travel between nearby sites
- Commitment to supporting students’ individual needs and collaborating with teachers, families, and IEP teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students for communication disorders and develop individualized intervention plans
- Deliver direct therapy to students, documenting progress and adapting methods as necessary
- Participate in multi-disciplinary IEP meetings and provide input on student goals
- Maintain therapy records, progress monitoring, and compliance with state/federal regulations
