Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Belleville, Illinois
Step into an exciting full-time contract opportunity providing meaningful support to elementary students as a valued Speech-Language Pathologist. Enjoy a manageable caseload—last academic year averaged around 23 students—with the majority based at a single location and a handful at neighboring buildings just blocks away. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff to create nurturing, effective interventions and help each child achieve impactful progress.
Daily hours total 7.5, with standard schedules running from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, but service delivery needs can offer some flexibility in start time. This collaborative school environment values open communication, dedication to student growth, and a positive approach to teamwork.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist credentials (CCC or eligible CFY)
- Experience in school-based settings highly desired
- Background in pediatrics and elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and compliance
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to travel easily between nearby school buildings as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to a diverse elementary caseload
- Conduct evaluations, develop goals, and implement individualized therapy plans
- Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and other service providers to maximize student growth
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with school and district guidelines
- Deliver services flexibly to accommodate student needs at multiple locations
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and other team sessions
