School Speech Language Pathologist - Baldwin Park, California
Step into a dynamic and rewarding contract opportunity working with a vibrant middle school student population! This full-time position entails providing speech-language pathology services to a caseload of approximately 45 students, covering a broad range of communication needs. You’ll collaborate regularly with educators, staff, and families, making a direct impact while covering for a current provider starting as soon as possible, with the assignment projected at least through December and the possibility of extension.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure in California
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellows (CFY) are also welcome to apply
- Experience delivering speech pathology services in a school setting, especially with middle school-aged children
- Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy to middle school students in both individual and group settings
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute expertise to team discussions, and keep documentation current and thorough
- Liaise with teachers, counselors, and families to provide strategies and monitor student progress
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
