Speech Language Pathologist in Apopka, FL
Step into a rewarding contract position as a Speech Language Pathologist, supporting middle school students in grades 6–8 and making a direct impact in their academic and personal development. This full-time role (35 hours/week) serves one school with a caseload of approximately 60–65 students, providing focused, consistent care throughout the school year.
The position is on-site and ideal for professionals with strong school-based SLP experience and current ASHA certification (CCC). A Florida state SLP license and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Science Disorders, or a related field are required. You’ll be working collaboratively with students, educators, and families, developing individualized therapy plans, monitoring progress, and supporting communication goals in an educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Active FL State Speech-Language Pathologist license
- CCC certification from ASHA
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Previous school-based experience (grades 6–8 preferred)
- Skill in case management for a moderate group size (60–65 students)
- Ability to clear district background check and fingerprinting expeditiously
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to assigned students
- Create and track individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents on student progress
- Document sessions, evaluations, and required reports
- Comply with district and state regulations for service provision
