You'll be based near scenic Albertson, NY—a vibrant suburban community with easy access to historic landmarks, lush parks, and city attractions. This assignment covers a maternity leave for the next 4-5 months and requires an enthusiastic SLP ready to start as soon as possible. Working 9am-3pm (with an unpaid lunch), you’ll support students from kindergarten through age 21—allowing you to develop expertise with different age groups and a variety of needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state licensure as an SLP
- Experience with AAC devices (including eyegaze technology) preferred
- School-based SLP experience, especially with K-21 population, is a plus
- Ability to provide both push-in and pull-out (mainly pull-out) services
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication challenges
- Implement AAC device support and specialized interventions as needed
- Deliver mostly pull-out therapy, with some push-in sessions
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
