Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist in San Mateo, CA

What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with students diagnosed with autism, particularly in a school environment
- Background in case management, including developing and monitoring individualized education and behavioral plans
- Confidence in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners
- Relevant credentials or certification as required by state regulations
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary case manager for students on the autism spectrum
- Develop, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with team members
- Provide direct support and consultation to students, staff, and families, helping to build strategies for academic and social success
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain accurate records
- Participate in team meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Advocate for students’ needs and help foster a positive, inclusive school environment
