A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, serving primarily elementary and some high school students across three school sites in Kent, WA. This contract role supports individualized speech and language assessment and therapy aligned with special education plans, reporting to the Director of Special Education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver IEP-determined speech and language pathology services to students
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language needs
  • Provide consultation and support to staff, students, families, and community partners
  • Collaborate professionally within a multidisciplinary team to enhance student outcomes
  • Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with special education procedures

Qualifications:

  • Active Washington State Speech Language Pathology License
  • Experience and training in assessment, evaluation, and consultation within pediatric and school settings
  • Familiarity with all phases of the special education process and knowledge of disability categories
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to students with special education needs and their families
  • Ability to incorporate a positive, approachable attitude, including humor and lightheartedness, in the workplace
  • Organized and effective communication skills, including active listening and appropriate channel utilization
