Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations for patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized care plans based on evaluation results and ongoing patient needs.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions focused on communication and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Document all patient encounters, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring thorough and timely record keeping.
- Coordinate with insurance companies regarding patient benefits and authorizations.
- Prepare materials and treatment areas ahead of each session to optimize effectiveness.
- Educate nurses, physicians, dietitians, and other staff on evaluation results, therapy recommendations, and research-based practices.
- Develop and present in-service training sessions to enhance team knowledge and collaboration.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Maintain clean, orderly treatment spaces and uphold infection control best practices.
- Make reminder calls to patients to support ongoing engagement and appointment adherence.
- Assist patients and families with navigating hospital resources and services.
- Take on other related duties as assigned to support patient care and team operations.
Qualifications:
- Current license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Previous experience providing SLP services in a healthcare or hospital environment strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and therapy implementation.
- Excellent documentation abilities and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to patient advocacy, ethical practice, and ongoing professional development.
