Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations for patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized care plans based on evaluation results and ongoing patient needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions focused on communication and swallowing rehabilitation.
  • Document all patient encounters, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring thorough and timely record keeping.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies regarding patient benefits and authorizations.
  • Prepare materials and treatment areas ahead of each session to optimize effectiveness.
  • Educate nurses, physicians, dietitians, and other staff on evaluation results, therapy recommendations, and research-based practices.
  • Develop and present in-service training sessions to enhance team knowledge and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain clean, orderly treatment spaces and uphold infection control best practices.
  • Make reminder calls to patients to support ongoing engagement and appointment adherence.
  • Assist patients and families with navigating hospital resources and services.
  • Take on other related duties as assigned to support patient care and team operations.

Qualifications:

  • Current license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Previous experience providing SLP services in a healthcare or hospital environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and therapy implementation.
  • Excellent documentation abilities and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to patient advocacy, ethical practice, and ongoing professional development.
