This contract opportunity calls for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who will assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders, helping individuals achieve optimal communication and safety during eating and drinking. Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract role with flexible weekday hours (detailed information provided during interview).

Qualifications:

  • Valid SLP license (or eligibility) in Wisconsin.
  • Clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of current best practices in evaluation and treatment of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient documentation and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform direct evaluations and individualized treatments for speech, language, and swallowing issues.
  • Complete thorough patient documentation, including initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Verify insurance benefits as necessary.
  • Prepare materials and strategies for both evaluation and therapy sessions.
  • Educate and consult with medical staff—including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service personnel—regarding findings, recommendations, and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver in-service training and educational presentations for staff development.
  • Participate in interprofessional collaboration to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas after each session.
  • Provide patients with appointment reminders and assist them and their families in navigating hospital processes.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
