Key Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current and valid SLP license (or eligibility) in Wisconsin
- Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interprofessional healthcare teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver one-on-one therapy targeting speech, language, and swallowing concerns
- Complete thorough patient documentation, including initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress and discharge reports
- Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain patient benefits as needed
- Prepare for therapy sessions, ensuring all materials and resources are ready
- Educate staff—including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers—on evaluation results and therapy recommendations
- Plan and present professional development and in-service education opportunities for healthcare staff
- Partner with other providers to create patient-centered treatment approaches
- Maintain clean and organized therapy spaces following each session
- Make reminder calls to scheduled patients and assist with hospital navigation for patients and families
- Perform additional duties as assigned
