Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Whittier, CA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with communication needs across two vibrant school sites, playing a pivotal role in enhancing their academic and social experiences. This role begins as soon as possible and offers steady, meaningful engagement throughout the school year.
You’ll split your skills between two locations: View Park Middle School on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Innovation Elementary School on Mondays and Fridays. As an SLPA, you’ll work approximately 32 hours per week, serving caseloads of 17 and 16 students at each location, respectively. An SLP is also needed, dedicating 2-4 hours a week for specialized oversight and assessment support.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold active SLPA or SLP licensure and certification required for school-based work.
- Prior experience in school settings, ideally with diverse elementary and middle school populations.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and clear communication skills for engaging with students, educators, and families.
- Organizational skills to effectively manage caseloads, documentation, and scheduling.
- Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary educational team and participating in IEP meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality speech and language services as guided by IEP goals.
- Assist in planning and implementing therapy sessions, documenting progress and outcomes.
- For SLPs: complete student assessments and evaluations, directly supervise the SLPA, and ensure service entries are up-to-date.
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, providing insight for goal development and student progress.
- Work closely with related service providers and educators to maximize student success.
