This contract opportunity allows you to work closely with educators and students, bringing your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) and collaborating with a supervising SLP in a fulfilling, school-based setting.
Schedule & Sites:
- Mondays and Fridays at an elementary school supporting a caseload of 16
- Tuesdays and Thursdays at a middle school working with a caseload of 17
- The SLPA role involves a commitment of 32 hours per week; SLP involvement is 2-4 hours per week
Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as an SLPA in California; supervisory SLP must also be licensed
- Previous experience in school-based speech-language services is preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of IEP documentation, assessment processes, and entry of service data
- Ability to work both independently and under supervision
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Support students in achieving their communication goals within the school environment
- Assist with IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation for service delivery
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers for comprehensive student support
- SLP to complete evaluations, oversee SLPA activities, attend IEP meetings, and ensure all compliance mandates are met
