Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent
- Current SLPA license or eligibility to obtain one in North Carolina
- Previous experience in school settings is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting to student needs
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement speech-language therapy sessions, as directed by a supervising SLP
- Support students individually and in small groups to improve communication skills
- Assist in development and execution of therapy plans and goals
- Maintain progress records, collect data, and report student performance
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support generalization of skills in multiple settings
- Prepare materials and adapt activities for diverse learning needs
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP documentation as appropriate
