Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid SLPA licensure required
- Previous school-based experience highly preferred
- Comfortable with or knowledgeable about AAC devices and communication strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to manage individual and small group interventions for elementary-age children
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support students with diverse speech and language needs, including AAC users
- Document student progress and maintain thorough records
- Collaborate with school staff to facilitate targeted speech therapy interventions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for student care plans
Job Details and Schedule:
- Two contract positions available
- 7 hours per day, 35 hours a week to start
- Once an SLP is hired internally, hours may adjust to 5.75 hours per day (28.75 per week)
- Possibility of an increase to 30 hours per week pending coordinator approval
- Elementary school setting with a focus on inclusive, supportive care
