This contract opportunity calls for dedicated professionals with experience as Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) in school settings. With two current openings, you’ll work in an engaging environment near Anaheim, CA, helping young learners develop critical communication skills. Your caseload will include some students utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), so comfort or experience with AAC is important.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA credential to practice in California
- Prior experience delivering SLPA services in a school setting, ideally at the elementary level
- Familiarity or expertise supporting students who use AAC devices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with teachers, specialists, and families
- Ability to adapt to changing student needs and caseloads
- Reliable, organized, and compassionate approach when supporting diverse learners
Role Details & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct group and individual speech-language therapy to elementary students as outlined in IEPs
- Support the supervising SLP in assessments, progress tracking, and therapy planning
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with all required reports
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and school staff to ensure student success
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers regarding student progress and therapy goals
- Support the inclusion and success of students with complex communication needs, especially those utilizing AAC
There are two immediate vacancies, each offering 7 hours per day (35 hours/week). Once a supervising SLP is hired, the positions will adjust to 5.75 hours daily (28.75 hours/week), with the potential to increase to 30 hours weekly pending approval.
