Step into an exciting opportunity supporting young learners as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a thriving elementary school environment. Two SLPA positions are available. Each role begins at seven hours per day (35 hours per week). Once an SLP is hired, these will shift to 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours weekly), with the potential of moving to 30 hours a week depending on ongoing approvals. Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA licensure and credentials required
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Demonstrated familiarity or comfort working with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, SLPs, and families
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Passion for fostering growth in elementary-aged students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of individualized speech and language therapy plans under guidance of a licensed SLP
- Assist with AAC devices and strategies for students with complex communication needs
- Conduct speech-language therapy sessions individually or in small groups
- Document progress and maintain accurate student records
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP processes, and school-wide initiatives
- Adapt materials and approaches as needed for student success
