School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Orange, California
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in an engaging and collaborative school environment. Two contract positions are available, offering you a chance to make an immediate difference while broadening your experience with a diverse caseload—including students with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs.
Enjoy a full-time schedule of 7 hours per day, totaling 35 hours per week. Please note, as the team expands and an SLP is onboarded, these positions will adjust to approximately 5.75 hours daily (28.75 hours per week). There is also the potential for schedules to be increased to 30 hours weekly, pending administrative approval. Flexibility and adaptability are key as you support the changing needs of the district and your students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure and credentials as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Prior experience providing services in a school-based setting preferred
- Confidence and comfort working with elementary-age students
- Familiarity and/or experience working with students utilizing AAC devices
- Ability to work collaboratively with speech coordinators, SLPs, teachers, and other multidisciplinary staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language interventions under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Implement and support AAC strategies on caseload
- Collect data, document student progress, and report findings to supervising SLP
- Assist with assessments and treatment planning
- Contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate on student goals
