School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Puyallup, Washington
Step into an impactful role supporting students in their communication and language development for the 2026 - 2027 school year in the Puyallup, WA area. We are seeking two skilled professionals to serve as Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) on a contract basis, with one position focused on elementary schools and another dedicated to middle schools—where prior experience at the middle level is especially valuable. You'll enjoy the support and supervision of an established virtual SLP, ensuring ongoing guidance and professional collaboration throughout your assignment from ASAP through June 23, 2027. This is a full-time opportunity, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Washington State SLPA licensure required, or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Fingerprinting through OSPI is a must (or be prepared to complete this step)
- Prior experience in an educational setting is highly desirable
- For the middle school assignment, previous work with adolescents is preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering student growth and inclusion
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering speech and language support services to assigned students under supervision of a virtual SLP
- Assisting in the creation and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Supporting generalization of communication skills across classroom environments
- Conducting documentation and progress tracking
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and school staff to facilitate student success
- Maintaining compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
