School-Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Peyton, CO
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-8 students with a diverse range of speech and language needs. This full-time position, beginning August 3, 2026 and extending through May 28, 2027, will engage you in meaningful work across mild to severe caseloads, addressing articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, social-pragmatic communication, and high-tech AAC. Collaborate with educators and families to foster communication growth in a dynamic school environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Communication Sciences, or a related field
- Valid SLPA licensure through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
- Experience or interest in serving K-8th grade populations
- Knowledge of a variety of speech and language disorders (including fluency, AAC, and pragmatic communication)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language services under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement therapy sessions tailored to individual IEP goals and student needs
- Support students with both mild and severe impairments, including articulation, receptive/expressive language, and the use of augmentative communication devices
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with educational staff, therapists, and families to promote consistent support strategies
- Participate in meetings and ongoing training as needed
