Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Pasadena, MD
Make an impact supporting K-12 students’ communication skills in a collaborative, well-resourced district. This contract-based opportunity seeks a committed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a dedicated team near Pasadena, MD, with responsibilities extending to Rock Hall, MD. The role offers both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time options to accommodate your schedule preferences.
As an itinerant SLPA, you’ll work across five schools serving diverse student populations—from elementary through high school. You’ll be supported by a seasoned team, including two Speech-Language Pathologists and another SLPA, creating an environment that nurtures professional collaboration and growth.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Valid SLPA license or eligibility in Maryland
- Previous school-based experience preferred, but those passionate about making a difference in student communication are encouraged to apply
- Ability to adapt and manage caseloads that may vary across K-12 settings
- Strong organization and time-management abilities to effectively travel between school sites
- Commitment to collaborating with SLPs, special education teams, and educators
- Flexibility and a student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services as directed by a supervising SLP
- Support IEP implementation for students with communication disorders
- Assist with documentation and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain effective therapy plans
- Serve a varied caseload, supporting students across elementary and high school grade levels
- Travel between schools following assigned schedules:
- High School: 7:20 AM – 2:40 PM
- Elementary: 8:30 AM – 3:50 PM
