School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Newark, Delaware
Step into a rewarding school-based contract role supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This opportunity extends through the 2026-2027 school year, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 11, 2027.
You will work onsite with a diverse student population near Newark, DE, collaborating closely with a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract offers flexible scheduling within the school’s standard 8:00-4:00 (elementary) and 6:45-2:45 (middle/high) hours, with the ability to adapt a mutually agreeable schedule, such as 7:30-3:30.
Qualifications:
- Active or pending DE SLPA or SLP license required
- Experience in school or healthcare settings preferred
- Spanish speaking ability considered a plus, but not required
- Clinical Fellows and SLPA graduates are welcome to apply
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with multidisciplinary teams
- Capable of passing a background check and drug screening
- Willing and able to work onsite throughout the academic year
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct speech-language services to K-12 students under supervision
- Assisting with screenings, assessments, and therapy sessions
- Supporting IEP implementation and documentation
- Participating in team meetings and parent communications
- Contributing to student progress tracking and reporting
