School Speech Pathologist Assistant - Lake Hughes, California
Make a meaningful impact working with young learners in a vibrant, supportive school district serving approximately 3,650 students across grades TK-12. This contract opportunity centers around providing speech-language services to an engaging elementary caseload at a single, well-resourced site.
You’ll support roughly 60 elementary students (TK-5th) with varying needs, from general education through moderate/severe challenges. Your expertise in both direct services and IEP-related processes — including assessments and evaluations — will play a vital role in helping these students flourish academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA credential is required
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Confidence in servicing a broad range of needs, including IEPs and evaluations
- Ability to manage a diverse student population with professionalism and compassion
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- CTC preferred, but not required
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct speech-language therapy to elementary students
- Collaborating with educators, families, and other specialists
- Conducting assessments and supporting the IEP process
- Maintaining accurate, timely documentation of student progress
- Adjusting therapy plans to meet individual student needs as necessary
- Promoting positive, inclusive classroom experiences
- Working contracted hours of 37.5 per week during the academic year (August through early June)
