Qualifications:
- Current licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the state of California
- Prior experience in a school setting highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to travel between sites as required by the itinerant role
- Proven ability to follow treatment plans and directives from supervising SLPs
- Organizational savvy for managing caseloads and paperwork efficiently
- Passion for creating positive, inclusive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist supervising SLPs in delivering speech and language therapy services to K-12 students
- Work across multiple school sites within the region, adapting services to meet diverse student needs
- Implement therapy activities as outlined in individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records compliant with district and state guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development sessions as needed
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other service providers to maximize student outcomes
- Provide support and encouragement to help students develop confidence and improved communication skills
