Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent from an accredited program
- Current New York State SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Previous experience in school-based settings, especially working with K-12 students
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Comfort working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for students of varying ages and abilities
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in accordance with student IEPs and educational goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports, communicating regularly with teachers and families
- Support students in improving articulation, language comprehension, and social communication skills
- Participate in ESY team meetings and collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to foster a supportive learning environment
- Adapt therapy approaches to suit both group and one-on-one settings, maximizing student engagement
