Begin a rewarding assignment in a supportive high school environment dedicated to empowering students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences. This contract opportunity is set within a unique, specialized program designed to help students build independence and essential life skills through personalized education. You’ll be based on-site in Ludlow, collaborating with a passionate team and supervising an SLPA to ensure high-quality speech and language services.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and credentials for school-based speech-language pathologists (CCC-SLP required)
- Hands-on experience with school-aged students, preferably in high school settings
- Direct experience working with AAC devices and technology
- Demonstrated ability and interest in supporting students with ASD or similar learning profiles
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience with SLPA or support staff preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy within a dedicated high school program for students with diverse needs
- Evaluate student needs, develop tailored goals, and maintain required documentation
- Utilize AAC devices and other augmentative strategies to support student communication goals
- Collaborate with special education teachers, case managers, and program staff to optimize learning outcomes
- Supervise and support an assigned SLPA, providing guidance and feedback
- Foster a positive, inclusive therapy environment that prioritizes functional communication and independence
