School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | West Point, Mississippi

Responsibilities include delivering targeted interventions for individuals with speech, language, social communication, and cognitive-communication needs. You’ll be responsible for conducting thorough screenings and assessments, developing individualized IEP goals compliant with state and federal guidelines, and implementing effective therapy programs. Accurate documentation and timely preparation of reports will be essential, as will biweekly progress monitoring and regular participation in annual IEP reviews. Expect to work closely with families, teachers, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support for each student. Attendance at multidisciplinary evaluations, eligibility, and IEP meetings, as well as providing in-service education for staff, is required. The role involves moderate travel between school sites, with occasional exposure to a variety of school settings. Physical activity, including lifting up to 20 pounds and periods of both sitting and standing, is a part of the daily routine.
Key Qualifications:
- State certification: Speech/Language Clinician (215), Speech Associates (216)
- Active speech-language pathology certification/licensure as required for schools
- Ability to conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings and assessments
- Experience with diagnostic and treatment planning for school-based populations
- Proficiency in IEP development, review, and documentation practices
- Effective collaboration skills with educators, families, and external agencies
- Willingness to travel between locations as needed
- Capability to fulfill the physical demands of typical school environments
