Speech Language Pathologist in West Orange, NJ

A dedicated speech-language pathologist is needed to support elementary and middle school learners, all within one central building, with the potential to cover two nearby preschools. This role is vital in addressing the needs of approximately 55 students, ranging from preK through 8th grade, ensuring each student’s voice and communication skills flourish.
You’ll start as soon as possible, providing essential speech therapy, managing cases, developing IEPs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The contract continues until a permanent staff member is identified and ready to step in.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Current state licensure as required for school-based SLPs
- Previous experience in school settings, especially servicing preK-8th grade populations
- Strong background in IEP development, case management, and collaboration with families and educational staff
- SLPA and Clinical Fellow applications are not being accepted for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to a diverse caseload
- Complete and maintain timely documentation, including IEP writing
- Oversee case management and participate actively in IEP meetings
- Communicate effectively with educators, families, and other support personnel
- Possibly provide services at additional preschool locations as needed
