School Speech Language Pathologist - Livingston, NJ
Make a meaningful impact supporting students from pre-K through 8th grade in a welcoming school environment. We're seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist (CCC-SLP) for an immediate contract assignment. You'll work with a diverse caseload of approximately 55 students, providing direct speech therapy services, managing cases, and collaborating closely with school professionals and families. Your expertise will be integral to students’ success throughout the district, split between one elementary and one middle school housed in an attached building, with occasional service for two external preschools.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Valid Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of IEP development and case management
- Skilled in providing speech therapy to a range of ages, especially pre-K through middle school
- Comfortable managing a moderate caseload and delivering high-quality documentation
- SLP-CF or SLPA credentials are not accepted for this position
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech and language therapy services to students
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Serve as a case manager and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student progress
- Maintain accurate therapy records and progress documentation
- Adapt therapeutic approaches to address a broad spectrum of needs and goals
This full-time role (35 hours a week, Monday through Friday) offers the chance to build strong relationships in a supportive, close-knit school community while making a difference each day. The assignment continues until a permanent hire is secured, offering a rewarding contract experience.
