School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Wayne, New Jersey
Step into a rewarding contract role providing vital speech-language services to PreK-8th grade students in a welcoming district setting. As a Speech-Language Pathologist dedicated to supporting student success, you will join a collaborative educational team serving approximately 55 students across elementary and middle school levels. All school sites are conveniently located within the same attached building, with the possibility of outreach to two external preschools.
The assignment is full-time, with 35 scheduled hours each week across five days. Your expertise will provide essential support until a permanent staff member is secured. Ideal candidates are committed professionals ready to make a difference from day one.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Prior experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Background working with PreK–8th grade students
- Proficient with IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- SLP-CF and SLPA candidates will not be considered for this position
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech therapy services to students in compliance with IEP goals
- Develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Manage caseload as assigned, including direct therapy, progress tracking, and case management duties
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with educators and families
- Communicate and coordinate with staff to best support each student’s communication goals
