Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Valid state license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or CFY eligibility
- Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Solid foundation in assessment, direct therapy, IEP writing, and collaboration
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing procedures (a plus)
- Ability to adapt therapy for diverse student needs, including AAC and social communication
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, and fluency evaluations
- Screen students for communication challenges and interpret testing results
- Develop and update detailed evaluation reports, IEP goals, and present levels
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions targeting articulation, language, social skills, AAC, and fluency
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment as needed
- Attend IEP and eligibility meetings, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Consult with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success and inclusion
- Train staff in communication strategies and assist with behavioral plans as related to communication needs
- Ensure all practices comply with state and federal special education regulations
