Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Waukegan, Illinois
Step into a rewarding role supporting students at the high school level for the first semester of the 26/27 school year. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering quality speech-language services in a vibrant educational setting and allows you to make a meaningful impact during an important phase for students. You’ll be managing a caseload of approximately 45-50, covering an FMLA leave, and will find yourself surrounded by dedicated educators and enthusiastic learners.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois SLP license and PEL required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Previous experience working with pediatric and high school populations preferred
- Familiarity with school-based service delivery models
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to high school students in alignment with their IEPs
- Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and write effective, measurable goals
- Monitor progress, document session data, and complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educational teams
- Offer guidance and resources to families and educators on communication strategies
- Support students in developing their communication skills to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life
