School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Waterbury, Connecticut
Exciting opportunities are available for skilled Speech-Language Pathologists seeking rewarding contract positions in a supportive school environment. Two full-time openings are now open, focusing on elementary-aged students. These positions are onsite, totaling 35 hours per week, and may require travel between two close-by school sites to provide comprehensive services across locations.
Your work will play a vital role in helping elementary children reach their full communication potential. Candidates with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) will thrive here, though Clinical Fellows (CFs) eager to start their careers are also welcome—district supervision, while limited, can be provided for CFs.
Ideal Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active CT SLP license in good standing (upfront licensing a bonus)
- Proven school-based SLP experience
- CCC-SLP highly preferred; motivated CFs considered with district supervision available
- Strong collaboration skills for working across two school sites
- Up-to-date district-mandated fingerprints and background check (required)
- SLPAs are not being considered at this time
Daily Responsibilities:
- Serve a primarily elementary caseload providing direct speech and language therapy
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver top-tier interventions
- Maintain thorough records and prepare progress reports following district procedures
- Participate in IEP meetings and implement evidence-based practices
