Multiple assignments are available to cover upcoming maternity leaves within elementary and primary school settings. Each assignment focuses on serving a single school with a set caseload and consistent weekly hours, allowing you to build meaningful rapport with your students and school team.
Assignment Details:
- Assignments begin between late February and mid-March 2027, ending on June 18, 2027
- Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Direct on-site support; virtual or hybrid options are not available
- Age groups include Pre-K through 5th Grade, depending on assignment
- Responsibilities focused within one school per assignment
- School hours range between 7:20 AM–2:20 PM or 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
Key Qualifications:
- Active and current Virginia SLP license is required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting, especially with elementary-aged children, is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to working exclusively onsite throughout the duration of the assignment
- Ability to collaborate with staff, administrators, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to students according to their IEPs
- Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and maintain student records
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate progress and strategies to educators and caregivers
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
