School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Chesapeake, Virginia

Multiple temporary openings are available for passionate, experienced Speech-Language Pathologists to provide maternity leave coverage during the 2026-2027 school year. Assignments take place within welcoming school environments, allowing you to focus on one school and age group at a time while making a direct impact on student development.
Openings include placements in both primary and elementary settings, with caseloads ranging from Pre-K to 5th grade. Each assignment offers a steady schedule of 35 hours per week, following regular school day hours. Enjoy a supportive, collegial atmosphere as you work alongside dedicated educators and support staff. Please note, these positions are in-person only–remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the state of Virginia
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Comfortable providing therapy and evaluations to students from Pre-K through 5th grade
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to team effectively with school staff and families
- Ability to manage time and documentation efficiently within the school schedule
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to an assigned caseload, in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Complete assessments and document progress for students on your roster
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support individual student goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to interdisciplinary teams
