A rewarding opportunity awaits experienced Speech-Language Pathologists seeking a school-based contract in the vibrant Virginia Beach and Chesapeake area. Immediate openings are available to provide leave coverage for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year, supporting students across primary and intermediate grade levels. Each position is fully on-site (no VOCO or hybrid) with a 35-hour workweek at a single school.
These assignments offer the chance to collaborate with dedicated educators, make an impact on student success, and work with engaging caseloads spanning preschool through fifth grade—adapting strategies to meet a variety of speech and language needs.
Qualifications:
- Current, active Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the state of Virginia
- Previous experience in a school setting, preferably with PreK–5th grade students
- Strong assessment, intervention, and IEP implementation skills
- Ability to thrive working independently at a single assigned campus
- Excellent communication and collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to meet IEP goals
- Complete evaluations, write and update IEPs, and conduct progress monitoring
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student support
- Provide case management and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Engage with parents and caregivers to foster student progress
Assignments are available at multiple campuses, with each SLP assigned to one school per leave. Anticipated start dates range from late February to mid-March 2027, with coverage lasting through June 18, 2027.
