An in-person Speech-Language Pathologist position is available for a supportive, close-knit community south of Chicago. This contract role involves working 12-16 hours per week for the full 2026-2027 school year, making a meaningful impact by providing high-quality speech and language services to students in a high-needs environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license (IL SLP)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Prior experience in school-based speech therapy is highly valued
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person speech and language therapy to students according to IEPs
- Conduct assessments and re-evaluations to determine eligibility for speech services
- Develop targeted intervention plans and measurable goals
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
- Collaborate effectively with general and special education staff, parents, and administrators
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs
