Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current New York state licensure (or eligibility)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, CFY considered
- Prior school-based experience highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement effective therapy plans tailored to individual student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities using standardized tools
- Create and carry out individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy individually or in small groups
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success
- Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Provide consultation and resources for staff and families to encourage carryover and support
