Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Shakopee, MN
An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to make a positive impact in a dynamic middle school environment near the Minneapolis area. This full-time contract position runs ASAP through the end of the school year, providing services to a diverse group of students with a wide range of communication needs.
You will work with both general education and self-contained classrooms, supporting students who require assistance ranging from mild–moderate communication services to those with significant support requirements, including non-verbal students and individuals using AAC devices.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders
- Current SLP state license (or eligibility)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates also considered
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting valued
- Proficiency supporting students with AAC devices and non-verbal communication needs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ speech, language, and communication abilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide both direct and consultative speech-language therapy services
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
- Maintain timely, detailed documentation of progress and interventions
- Participate in team meetings and support compliance with state and federal guidelines
