School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Rockford, Illinois

The assignment begins with a comprehensive orientation on August 3rd, ensuring you’re well-prepared before students return for the academic year from August 11th through May 28th. You'll support students' communication, language, and social development—helping them achieve their goals in a collaborative and caring educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- State of Illinois Speech Language Pathologist license (active or eligibility to obtain before start date)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois, current or attainable
- Master’s degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field
- Open to candidates with CCC or CFY status
- Previous experience in schools or pediatric settings preferred
- Enthusiasm for working with elementary and/or early childhood populations
- Strong teamwork, documentation, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy for students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student progress
- Maintain records and comply with all documentation requirements
- Serve as a resource on communication development for school teams
- Attend orientation and participate in ongoing professional development
