This essential role is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering communication and learning for students from varied language backgrounds. Spanning a 35-hour workweek, you’ll have the option to focus on specialized tracks such as standard PK–12, Early Childhood/Preschool, or Bilingual populations, with caseloads averaging 60 students—though flexibility is required given current staffing needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Current or eligible RIDE PK-12 SLP certification required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Prior experience in school settings with PK–12 or Early Childhood populations
- Experience with AAC/assistive technology preferred
- Commitment to serving multi-lingual and culturally diverse student bodies
- SLPAs and Clinical Fellows (CFs) are not eligible for this role
Daily Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy according to IEPs
- Manage and support assistive technology, including AAC device set up
- Conduct student assessments and progress monitoring
- Complete documentation and required paperwork accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support teams, and advise parents on effective learning and communication strategies
