School Speech Language Pathologist - Woonsocket, RI
Step into a dynamic contract position supporting a highly diverse student body in northern Rhode Island. Beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 2027, this role offers meaningful work in a collaborative school-based environment with a flexible caseload and engaging day-to-day activities.
Ideal candidates are passionate speech-language pathologists with experience in PK-12 settings. Multiple specialized tracks suit varied interests, including Early Childhood/Preschool, Bilingual services, and standard mixed caseloads. You’ll work with approximately 60 students, though assignments may flex depending on immediate school needs, helping to bridge vacancy gaps and make a tangible impact.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid RIDE PK-12 SLP Certification (required)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Experience or comfort serving culturally and linguistically diverse populations
- Bilingual SLPs encouraged to apply; dedicated bilingual tracks available
- Strong assessment, documentation, AAC/assistive tech skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and related staff
- SLPAs or Clinical Fellows cannot be considered due to supervision guidelines
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing direct therapy to students
- Completing speech and language assessments
- Managing and setting up AAC/assistive technology devices
- Advising parents and collaborating with classroom teachers on strategies to support student learning
- Timely completion of relevant paperwork and IEP documentation
