School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Providence, Rhode Island

A contract opportunity is now open for skilled Speech-Language Pathologists who are ready to make an impact in a dynamic school environment. The position extends through June 2027 at 35 hours per week and offers both standard PK–12 and specialty tracks, including Early Childhood/Preschool and Bilingual caseloads, providing the chance to tailor your experience to your expertise and interests.
Candidates will work with approximately 60 students (caseloads may fluctuate based on assignment), delivering direct therapy, conducting evaluations, setting up and managing AAC/assistive technology devices, maintaining necessary documentation, and collaborating closely with teachers and families to support student learning strategies.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and SLP - CCC credentials
- Current or eligibility for RIDE PK-12 SLP Certification (no SLPAs/CFs permitted)
- Background in school-based SLP services, with confidence in managing varied and fluid caseloads
- Experience with diverse sociolinguistic communities strongly preferred
- Strength in technology for AAC/assistive devices
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
Daily responsibilities include:
- Providing direct therapy to students across PK–12 settings
- Performing assessments and regularly updating progress data
- Advising and educating families on communication strategies
- Consulting with classroom teachers to support curriculum access
- Managing and implementing assistive technology to enhance communication
