Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Portland, TX
Step into a pivotal role supporting student communication needs on the Southeast Texas Coast as a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This assignment prioritizes on-site providers but remains open to virtual candidates who meet the requirements, so please indicate your preferred modality when applying.
Your impact will be immediate—supervising district SLPAs and delivering comprehensive SLP services. The full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule offers the chance to work across multiple campuses (assignments to be determined) and make a meaningful difference for a diverse student population. Primary case loads may include elementary through high school students, allowing you to leverage your expertise in speech and language development.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLP license required
- Experience in school-based SLP settings preferred
- Strong supervisory skills, especially overseeing SLPAs
- Ability to meet Texas fingerprint requirements promptly
- Flexibility to work on-site (highly preferred) or virtually
- Comfortable managing full-time caseloads and adapting to evolving district needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support district SLPAs, ensuring quality and compliance
- Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and implement treatment plans
- Deliver direct and consultative SLP services to students
- Maintain detailed documentation and report on student progress
- Collaborate with faculty, families, and administration to foster student success
District interviews will begin the week of August 3rd, in alignment with the interim SLP coordinator’s start. Be sure that you are prepared to complete Texas fingerprinting quickly if not already in the system. Please note, applicants who are former employees cannot currently be considered.
