Travel School-Based SLP | Port Saint Lucie, Florida
A dynamic opportunity is available for licensed Speech-Language Pathologists specializing in school-based therapy to support students along the Southeast Florida Coast. This role, based primarily in Port St. Lucie, FL, involves travel to multiple schools within the district, providing flexibility through both full-time and part-time assignments. The focus of this position is on conducting evaluations, with a particular emphasis on supporting students with Autism and helping the district manage a backlog of assessments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, especially for students on the autism spectrum
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and regulatory requirements
- Provide direct speech therapy services as needed across assigned schools
- Assist the district in catching up on delayed evaluations with timely and thorough assessments
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active SLP licensure required
- Experience with Autism evaluations strongly preferred
- Previous school-based SLP experience advantageous
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites
- Fingerprinting clearance as per district requirements (may be retrievable from Department of Health records)
Location and Schedule:
- Primary assignment at Oak Hammock K-8, Port St. Lucie, FL (2 days per week)
- Additional coverage at CA Moore K-7 and FK Sweet Elementary in Ft. Pierce, FL with flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time)
- DHH cluster site experience is a plus but not mandatory
