A travel opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide services in schools near Ottumwa, IA, and the surrounding northern areas. This role is suited for professionals experienced in school-based therapy, pediatrics, teletherapy, or healthcare settings who can support students within the public school system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilize the ACHIEVE system for documentation and service planning.
- Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support student progress.
- Provide teletherapy services as needed.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to school therapy services.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), or a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status.
- Experience with school-based speech therapy, pediatrics, or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with Iowa-specific IEP procedures and the ACHIEVE documentation system is highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage caseloads.
- Flexibility to support both in-person and teletherapy services.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Position is based in the Ottumwa, IA area with potential travel to schools north of Ottumwa.
- Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- School year typically concludes by Memorial Day weekend.
- Anticipated start date around August 23, contingent on documentation and system proficiency.
